What are Dentures?

Dentures are dental appliances that can be used to replace missing teeth. Full dentures are used to replace a full jaw of teeth, while partial dentures replace one or a few missing teeth.

Dentures are an affordable tooth replacement option that allow patients to eat and speak properly, while also maintaining their facial structure.

Implant Supported Dentures in Calgary NE

Unlike conventional and intermediate dentures which rest on the gum tissue and are held in place by suction, implant supported dentures are secured in place with surgically placed dental implants.

Why replace missing teeth?

Replacing missing teeth is imperative for your oral health. Dentures can help preserve a patient's facial structure, allow for proper speech and eating, and prevent further dental issues, such as the shifting of teeth.

Types of Dentures

At Tower Dental Clinic, we offer different types of dentures to suit a patient's unique needs. These include:

Partial Dentures in Calgary NE

If you are missing more than a few missing teeth (but not an entire jaw), your dentist will use partial dentures.

Partial dentures use artificial teeth that are held in place with clasps that fit onto your natural teeth or other tooth replacement, such as a dental crown.

These can be removed for sleeping and cleaning.

Full Dentures in Calgary NE

Sometimes referred to as complete dentures or false teeth, your dentist will use full dentures if you are missing a whole jaw of teeth.

These can be fitted for your upper and lower gums and are held in place using either an oral adhesive or by suction.

Full dentures can be removed from your mouth easily to help with cleaning and during sleep.

Conventional Dentures

If tooth extractions are required, your dentist will wait until this has been done and your gum tissue has fully healed. At that point, your dentist will fit your dentures. This process usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures will be made in advance and will be placed immediately following the extraction procedure. Any alterations required will be made once the gum tissue has healed.
